Freeze-thaw resistance

Climatic chamber

Freeze-thaw test is to determine the durability of the product to cyclic freezing and thawing. The assessment influence of aging by cyclic freeze - thawing is based on testing mechanical and structural properties (depending on tested material). In the case of polyurethane window frames the study is to determine the influence of freezing at – 40 °C and thawing at + 80 °C on the strength of the connection - corner (window / frame). The assessment influence of aging by cyclic freeze - thawing is based on testing mechanical properties.
The tests are conducted using climatic chamber Q-Lab Weiss, Model WVC 1000, -70, Weiss with Temperature range from -70 °C to + 180 °C and Humidity range from HR 0 % to 99% or freeze-thaw chamber with temperature range -20 °C to +20 °C (in air and water). Depending on the type of material, the tests are conducted in accordance with:
EN 13165:2012+A2:2016 Thermal insulation products for buildings. Factory made rigid polyurethane foam (PU) products. Specification.
EN 12091: 2013 Thermal insulating products for building applications- Determination of freeze-thaw resistance.
As part of the testing of the PM&VL7 research line, Indresmat window frames were examined.
