The scanning electron microscope (SEM) observation is to determine the microstructure of the material and chemical analysis performed by EDS. The objective of the proposed testing procedure is to compare the results (images, chemical compositions) received at different times (for example before and after ageing).
The tests are carried out on samples in the solid state. The samples are not coated (without carbon or gold), they can be a piece of material of any shape, and their dimension cannot exceed 5 cm x 5 cm x 1 cm. Scanning electron microscope EVO MA 10 Zeiss is used for the tests.
For preparation and calibration SEM the standard ISO 16700:2016 Microbeam analysis - Scanning electron microscopy - Guidelines for calibrating image magnification is used.
As part of the testing of the PM&VL7 research line, Rothoblaas membranes and tapes, Flex&Robust connections, injections and layers were examined before, during and after ageing.
