The objective of the proposed testing or assessment procedure is to evaluate the thermal performance of a full façade module as well as their thermal and visual performance. The façade module can include opaque, (semi)transparent as well as active façade components. By an outdoor test stand, the façade mock-up is tested under real weather conditions, while the test cell is operated under controlled temperature conditions. In focus of the tests are usually multi-functional façade units, which include either innovative building materials or novel daylighting systems, but also active components like façade-integrated heat pumps or ventilation units. As a novelty, the used PASSYS test cell is fully equipped with large-area heat flux tiles - enabling a highly precise calorimetric measurement.
