To evaluate the energy performance using an empirical method, facilities with at least two real-scale chambers with the same conditions are required. An experimental campaign measuring the energy performance needs to be carried out with a chamber with the electrochromic glazing and a reference glazing installed in the other chamber.
Another possibility is to perform dynamic energy simulations to evaluate the energy performance. This option is preferred when the optical/thermal properties of the dynamic IGU are knows.
The following set of key parameters can be collected under varying optical states of the glazing elements, namely:
• Transmittance/reflectance/absorption spectra
• Visible transmittance Modulation
• Solar transmittance Modulation
• Switching Time
• Control Strartegy Optimization
